Nice to meet you,

I'M TIM.

A designer, and planning to be a life-long student of architecture who is dedicated to helping society address current issues of sustainability and social change in the built environment.

Two years of professional experience in residential architecture and a lot of projects focused on housing in my graduate studies at University of Oregon have made me familiar with the challenges and importance of housing design. Also, public and educational design have been reoccurring themes throughout my studies.

Why Architecture?

Originally I was interested in art during my undergraduate studies at University of Utah before I stumbled upon my first few architecture classes. Ever since then I have had an insatiable curiosity for architecture and loved the connection to the arts that it has.

It wasn't until later in my undergraduate studies that my peers and I realized the issues of sustainability that the built environment faces. After working two years at Upwall Design Architects, my curiosity got the best of me. I wanted to learn more about sustainability at University of Oregon. I found what I was looking for and much more.

For example, there are social injustices everywhere that I believe designers can alleviate, and it is our responsibility to do so. This has been a big influence in my graduate education.

I'm happy to see now that a lot of firms are addressing these problems now, but there is still a lot of work to be done. I plan to face these problems in my career head on.

I have learned so much about architecture from all the wonderful mentors I've had during my budding career. However, I know that I don't have all the answers and I make mistakes like the rest of humanity. But my commitment is to keep learning and doing the best that I can as a designer.

Thank you for taking the time to visit. I am excited we have connected and I look forward to the journey ahead!
